In adapting Disney’s “Frozen” for the stage in “Frozen – Live at the Hyperion,” the team at Walt Disney Imagineering Creative Entertainment sought out new and exciting ways to tell Anna and Elsa’s story. Among other innovations, this dazzling theatrical production incorporates state-of-the-art projections and motion capture technology to create several “Wow!” moments for the audience. Disney team members collaborated with award-winning video and projection designer Aaron Rhyne (“A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder,” “Tangled: The Musical”) to produce projection effects that open up the world of the story, propel the action forward and blend seamlessly with physical sets and, in some cases, the performers themselves! That custom video wall covers 2,200 square feet and includes more than 4 million pixels. In fact, it weighs so much, the stage deck had to be reinforced with steel plates to secure it! It’s just one of the incredibly impressive set pieces that will make “Frozen – Live at the Hyperion” a not-to-be-missed spectacle.
The show makes its debut May 27 in the Hyperion Theater at Disney California Adventure park. Massive New MarqueeFrom the moment you walk up to the beloved coaster, you’ll see the huge changes that were made to the attraction. As you enter the ride, you’ll pass underneath a towering figure of The Hulk, using his colossal strength to hold up pieces of the coaster’s track. And fun fact, these track pieces were salvaged from the original ride.
Earlier this week, SeaWorld President & CEO Joel Manby announced the historic announcements happening at SeaWorld, including ending orca breeding, introducing new, inspiring and natural orca encounters, and launching new partnerships to protect oceans and marine animals. "We’re creating a new vision for SeaWorld that will help us deliver on our mission that every guest who walks through our doors will be inspired to take action to help protect wild animals and wild places. When SeaWorld opened its doors more than 50 years ago, killer whales were feared and even hunted. Now, they are among the most beloved marine mammals on the planet thanks, in part, to the inspirational encounters we’ve provided to more than 400 million guests." Said Manby.
The new vision for SeaWorld reflects changes in society and SeaWorld’s evolution with those changes, including ending killer whale breeding, new inspiring natural orca encounters, and new partnerships to protect oceans and marine animals. "While these decisions represent a shift in our business, they do not change our core values and purpose: to protect animals in the wild and inspire our guests to join us in this critical mission." Following the Denver Broncos victory over the Carolina Panthers at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, Peyton – joined by his children, Mosley and Marshall – celebrated with fans at the Happiest Place on Earth with a parade down Main Street, U.S.A., at Disneyland park. Take a look! It’s been 35 years since audiences first became enthralled with Indiana Jones, the archaeologist turned adventurous hero in “Raiders of the Lost Ark” – and more than 25 years since audiences fell in love with “The Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular” show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. For those of you who aren’t familiar, “The Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular” is a daily stunt show that takes guests on a breathless journey to watch stunts from the film franchise performed before their very eyes – including fight scenes, whip tricks, sword fights, high falls, fiery explosions and much more. The storyline of the stunt show was inspired by “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” the first Oscar-winning film in the Indiana Jones franchise. And here’s an interesting bit of history: the stunt show opened in 1989, the same year “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade” was released, making the stunt show an instant smash hit with park guests
