Already the largest LEGOLAND® park in the world, LEGOLAND® Florida announced this morning another major park expansion coming summer 2013 adding to the park’s already exciting line up of more than 50 rides, shows and attractions designed specifically for families with children ages 2 to 12. Based on the new product line, LEGO® Legends of Chima, LEGOLAND Florida will bring this fantastical world to life with The World of Chima presented by Cartoon Network. Families will embark on a journey in search of a mystical energy source through a highly-interactive water ride experience, the Quest for CHI. Guests can also try their hand at an action-packed SpeedorzTM Arena, meet the beloved Chima characters and be transported to the Land of Chima with a new 4D movie, which are all part of the family-friendly Chima experience. “This is the first time a theme park has invested in a major expansion concurrently with the rollout of a new brand and product line, and it was an easy decision based on how well LEGO Legends of Chima has been received by children and those who are young at heart around the world,” said LEGOLAND Florida General Manager Adrian Jones. “This is also a reflection of the overall success of the park, which has already enabled us to open a new Water Park and build multiple new attractions during the past 18 months.” The centerpiece of the new World of Chima at LEGOLAND Florida is an interactive, family-friendly water ride, The Quest for CHI. Guests will enter The World of Chima through a fantastical stone and moss covered entrance which leads to the Lion Temple at the base of the majestic 45-foot tall floating Mount Cavora. There, guests will explore a diverse landscape setting and join the Lion Tribe in an epic battle to recover the stolen CHI orbs. Guests will board a watercraft which will take them on an interactive experience using water cannons to help their hero, Laval the Lion Prince, defeat Cragger the Crocodile King as he attempts to steal the precious supply of CHI. The journey will take them through the land of Chima where they will meet some of the highly advanced animal tribal habitats, including the Rhino Quarry, Raven’s Roost, Eagle’s Nest, Wolves Encampment, Gorilla Forest and Crocodile Swamp among other imaginative settings. The World of Chima also features a super-charged, super-fast SpeedorzTM Arena where multiple players build their LEGO Speedorz and compete to win the precious supply of CHI by participating in group challenges and competing in a series of obstacles A new 4D movie, the LEGO Chima 4D Movie Xperience, will further immerse families into The World of Chima by bringing the characters to life on the big screen. Kids will also get to meet their hero Laval the Lion Prince and Cragger the Crocodile King at daily character meet and greet sessions. Plus, with the largest supply of LEGO products in Central Florida, guests can find their favourite LEGO Legends of Chima sets and Speedorz. LEGOLAND officials say LEGO Legends of Chima is the highest tested new LEGO theme in the last 12 years. Approximately 50 jobs will be added to LEGOLAND Florida when The World of Chima opens this summer.

Here is a look at some new items with this year’s logo coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios on May 17, 2013! The logo is featured on numerous items including a Disney pin, a coffee mug, a photo frame and more. Disney Design Group also created a unique Star Wars Weekends “title crawl” image for merchandise, which reflects on the opening title sequences from the Star Wars motion pictures. Disney is trying a few new things this year, like an oversized calendar with 13 previous Star Wars Weekends posters. Each poster measures 12-inches by 18-inches, and can be removed from the calendar for framing. They are also introducing a deluxe autograph and photograph book. The popular Star Tours nametags using Aurebesh will be returning. This year, a new black name tag will appear for Annual Passholders only! The New toys look amazing! Jedi Mickey’s Starfighter is a great example of that! Disney will also have new Muppets action figures and new die-cast cars of Disney•Pixar “Cars” characters portraying Star Wars characters. Finally, we will have new Vinylmation at this year’s event including a limited release mystery series; a Vinylmation, Jr. series with droids; and two limited edition figures – a removable, 3-inch figure of Han Solo in Carbonite, and a 9-inch Jabba the Hutt figure with a 1.5-inch Salacious B. Crumb figure. It's official, DownTown Disney is getting a multiyear Refurbishment/expansion to be transformed into "Disney Springs". This is how Disney announced it: Walt Disney World Resort guests and local Florida residents have been enjoying Downtown Disney for more than 30 years, but we knew we had an opportunity to reimagine and reinvent this corner of the resort. We’ve spent a good deal of time thinking through just what we want this area to be, and how to bring it to life to make it a place unlike any other. And we have even scrapped a few preliminary plans that we felt didn’t measure up to our aspirations for this place. Our fundamental goal is to create a welcoming, comfortable space where families can enjoy time together and instantaneously feel right at home. We want to give them opportunities to relax, to be entertained, to wander in and out of unique and distinctive shops or enjoy a world-class dining experience. And because we are Disney, we’ve anchored the entire experience around a story that gives us the ability to deliver on the legendary place-making and creativity for which we are known. The result is Disney Springs, a timeless and vibrant place that celebrates the turn-of-the century lakeside towns that dotted the Florida landscape The story of Disney Springs begins at our new Town Center, which is oriented around a series of bubbling natural springs that first attracted settlers to the area. From there, the town grew to encompass three additional neighborhoods: The Landing, Marketplace and West Side – each with its own distinct charm and atmosphere. Once complete, Disney Springs will expand from 75 to more than 150 shopping, dining and entertainment venues, featuring some of the world’s most iconic brands and restaurants. Construction is set to begin next month. The expansion will open in phases and we expect to complete our development in 2016.
By Tom Parker. With the grand opening of the ride coming in a couple of months, Universal Orlando opened the "Supply Vault" of Transformers - The Ride. This Store covers a really small part of the new giant building, which houses the all new 4D Transformers ride. The store has a Factory theme feeling inside, like a War bunker - same type scenery used on the films. The merchandise is typical Theme Park products, like t-shirts, sweaters, toys, cups and more. What I loved about the store is that there are sections with special merchandise for each character, like Bumblebee and Optimus Prime. Price range goes from 5.99- to 59.99 on products I saw, such a transformers sweater and a nice Bumblebee drink cup. I bet different merchandise will be coming to the store after the ride opens, but for now they have a nice variety. There are few collectible items such as movie props or scale figures of the transformers series. I thought that ENERGON drink was going to be available on this store but when I got in, no sign of that happening soon... And we end this update with Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, both on the side of the New store, I'm pretty sure this will be the transformers location for the meets and greets.
The new store is nice, very detailed and themed, I'm very impressed by how quick they finished this building and I'm so excited for the Grand opening!.
