Since the beginning of the idea of Disneyland, Walt stated that the park would never be completed due to the never ending imagination around the world. Disneyland Paris was created as the first Disney Park ever outside the US. We are not going to focus much on the park itself, but on one major ride that catches your eye every time you step through the Walt Disney Studios park, part of the Disneyland Paris Resort. The Twilight Zone, Tower of Terror. While creating the ride, Walt Disney Imagineers screened each of the 156 episodes of The Twilight Zone at least twice to capture the mood of the television series. Many episodes were screened three or four times and studied in regard to props, guest stars, settings, and music for inspiration, as well as to find the most representative quotes and characteristic phrases used by Serling in his role as host of the show. In the load area out side of the elevator there is an inspection certificate that is dated October 31, 1939. It is also signed by "Cadwallader", who is a character is the Twilight Zone's "Escape Clause". It turns out that he is the devil. Also the certificate number is 10259, which stands for October 2, 1959. The date the first Twilight Zone episode premiered. The are four "Tower of Terror" rides on Disney parks around the world, the first one being the one on The Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, on the Disney Hollywood Studios park. The second one on Disney's California Adventure , which changed the design of the ride, styling it to the Art Deco era of the 1920's. The third one being the one at Disney Sea park, where the themeing changed because of international copyright laws, and finally the last one being the one at Disneyland Paris
The attraction was finally greenlit in 2005 and was under construction right in the center of the park, behind the La Terrasse seating area, in early 2006. Upon completion, it was joined by a new themed development producing an outdoor Hollywood Boulevard of faux movie sets. Unlike its American cousins, the Paris Tower was constructed using concrete rather than steel due to French construction guidelines and standards, at a total cost exceeding €180 million. The ride finally opened on 2008, and it has been a major hit for the european fans!
