Since the beginning of the idea of Disneyland, Walt stated that the park would never be completed due to the never ending imagination around the world. Disneyland Paris was created as the first Disney Park ever outside the US. We are not going to focus much on the park itself, but on one major ride that catches your eye every time you step through the Walt Disney Studios park, part of the Disneyland Paris Resort. The Twilight Zone, Tower of Terror. While creating the ride, Walt Disney Imagineers screened each of the 156 episodes of The Twilight Zone at least twice to capture the mood of the television series. Many episodes were screened three or four times and studied in regard to props, guest stars, settings, and music for inspiration, as well as to find the most representative quotes and characteristic phrases used by Serling in his role as host of the show. In the load area out side of the elevator there is an inspection certificate that is dated October 31, 1939. It is also signed by "Cadwallader", who is a character is the Twilight Zone's "Escape Clause". It turns out that he is the devil. Also the certificate number is 10259, which stands for October 2, 1959. The date the first Twilight Zone episode premiered. The are four "Tower of Terror" rides on Disney parks around the world, the first one being the one on The Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, on the Disney Hollywood Studios park. The second one on Disney's California Adventure , which changed the design of the ride, styling it to the Art Deco era of the 1920's. The third one being the one at Disney Sea park, where the themeing changed because of international copyright laws, and finally the last one being the one at Disneyland Paris
The attraction was finally greenlit in 2005 and was under construction right in the center of the park, behind the La Terrasse seating area, in early 2006. Upon completion, it was joined by a new themed development producing an outdoor Hollywood Boulevard of faux movie sets. Unlike its American cousins, the Paris Tower was constructed using concrete rather than steel due to French construction guidelines and standards, at a total cost exceeding €180 million. The ride finally opened on 2008, and it has been a major hit for the european fans!

The iconic C-A-L-I-F-O-R-N-I-A letters that previously stood at the entrance of Disney California Adventure park for a decade will welcome tens of thousands of guests to the California State Fair tomorrow on its opening day! The letters were dedicated in a ceremony today at the site of their new home, the California State Fair’s Main Gate. You may remember that the Disneyland Resort donated the letters in May 2012 to Friends of the California State Fair, a nonprofit organization that benefits California Exposition & State Fair (Cal Expo) in Sacramento. Cal Expo is the site of the California State Fair and hundreds of other events annually. Disney California Adventure park Vice President Mary Niven was on hand at Cal Expo to help dedicate the letters, which stand 11 feet, 8 inches tall and weigh between 5,000 to 13,000 pounds each. Mary said, “The C-A-L-I-F-O-R-N-I-A letters were popular with millions of Disneyland Resort guests and Cal Expo is a perfect destination to continue their legacy.”

We’ve been giving you peeks into the new Fantasy Faire coming to Disneyland park and today, I’m pleased to let you know that this area will officially open for guests on March 12. One of the highlights of Fantasy Faire will be the Royal Theatre, where you’ll be treated to two unique shows relating the tales of “Beauty and the Beast” and “Tangled,” as told by a pair of Renaissance Storytellers, Mr. Smythe and Mr. Jones. Messieurs Smythe and Jones are men of the theatre and lovers of legend and lore. The storytellers present the tale as old as time and the hair-raising tale of Rapunzel, with the assistance of some fellow villagers, all to the musical accompaniment of Sir Samuel of Morocco. Even Belle, Rapunzel and Flynn Rider appear onstage to help tell their own stories. “We’re using our imaginations to create these stories,” said Show Director Chris Utley. “The storytellers will play a variety of roles, filling in as the other characters. They may put on a costume accessory to pretend to be Beast, or Gaston or Mother Gothel. ” “The stories are told in a fast-paced, whimsical kind of way – very fun and theatrical,” said Chris. “It’s kind of a Renaissance vaudeville style, and the two guys are reminiscent of the old comedy duos of Gallagher & Shean, Abbott & Costello and Laurel & Hardy. They tell their stories with a lot of humor and heart.”
The storytellers will take to the stage of the Royal Theatre when Fantasy Faire opens on March 12. If you’ve visited Disneyland park recently, you may have noticed that Fantasy Faire is quickly taking shape next to Sleeping Beauty Castle. Opening this spring, Fantasy Faire will not only be a home for Disney princesses, but it will also be a natural extension of Fantasyland. To find out how the look and architecture of this new area will be designed to flow with Sleeping Beauty Castle and Fantasyland, I went to the creative lead for the project: Michel Den Dulk, Creative Director, Walt Disney Imagineering. "My goal,” he said, “was that the new Fantasy Faire would meld over into the existing Fantasyland naturally.” He said that his intention would be for first-time visitors to never suspect that this addition came later than the rest of Fantasyland. “I took a lot of inspiration from the classic Disney movies like ‘Pinocchio.’ There’s some reference that’s in the architecture to the way the backgrounds of ‘Pinocchio’ are drawn. I took inspiration from the castle – you’ll see that there’s a lot of gold finials and beautiful banners and turrets that are similar to Sleeping Beauty Castle … So it really looks like it’s all part of the existing Fantasyland.”
Another key piece of architecture in Fantasy Faire will be the Royal Theatre, which was the former Carnation Plaza Gardens Stage. “My main inspiration there,” Michel explained, “was a Gothic kind of fair. King Arthur Carrousel and all the structures surrounding Dumbo – those were the main inspiration for the theatre structure. Stay Tuned for more Fantasy Faire news and Updates here!
